What's a Balance?

A Balance is a process used to create a whole-brained state around the beliefs you currently operate with. When we’re not operating from a whole-brained state, we make decisions based on limiting beliefs. 

When we “change our minds” by overwriting the limiting beliefs with supporting beliefs, we are able to access more of our brain function. When you access more of your brain function, it is easier to adhere to a diet, get to work on time, stay organized, remain calm during confrontation, be more creative, create more money for yourself, overcome migraines, eliminate allergies… there’s no limit to the number of things you can Balance for, or create a whole-brained state around. Even in cases of extreme illness or trauma, we can create peace, eliminate fear or otherwise support that person so they can have a higher quality of life.

What do you do during a session?

I communicate with your superconscious, subconscious and conscious minds.

Your superconscious is like a satellite that your GPS gets it’s signal from. It only wants what’s best for you and will guide you to get there in the fastest way possible.

Your subconscious is like the database that has all the roads in the GPS in storage. It doesn’t care what road you take. It just knows that it uses data to take you places. The beliefs you have are like the data the GPS uses.

Your conscious mind is like you having an address you want to go to. You know you want to go there, you might have a plan of how to get there, but you know if you use your GPS (superconscious and subconscious) you’ll get there faster.

When we work together, we use Balances to make sure the data (your subconscious) is programmed correctly so you don’t take any detours. Your superconsious makes sure we get there in the safest way possible.

Do you use any equipment?

No special equipment is needed!

You already have everything you need in order to reprogram the beliefs that are keeping you stuck. I help you access those beliefs and then provide instruction so you can change those beliefs into beliefs that will move you towards your goals faster.

How can I tell if it works?

We test your subconscious before and after each Balance during your sessions so you’ll know without a doubt that a negative, or limiting, belief has been reprogrammed into a positive belief.

To do this, we use muscle testing. The subconscious can’t lie – remember, it’s a database and has no opinion, just facts. Early in our session, we’ll figure out what your muscle test response is for statements that are true or false for you, and use that as a baseline for the remainder of our session.

In addition to the muscle test, you’ll “feel” different. I haven’t had a client yet who didn’t notice a physical difference from the time we begin our session to when we’re finished.

 

What if it stops working?

If you have a session and after a few days you feel like things have stopped working for you, it’s because there are other beliefs that are also keeping you stuck.

When you think about it, your subconscious has a LOT of data to keep track of! It’s in charge of every muscle you move, every breath you take, and every action you make. Plus, it’s estimated there are 50,000-70,000 thoughts that run through your brain every day, and up to 80% of them are negative! 

If you have negative thoughts, they’ll hold you back. So, if you’ve just begun your personal healing journey, one session isn’t enough to make lifelong change. That would be like expecting one workout to last the rest of your life. It helps in the short term to get you to your goals, but if you want to lose 20 pounds, consistency what will get you to your final goal, just like consistency in our sessions will get you to your goal.

One session will support you, but if you’re new or if it’s been a while since you’ve done self development, or you’ve not been doing the best versions of self development for you, it’s not enough to make the lasting change you’re after.

How long does a session take?

Your first session will last 75-90 minutes and in some cases longer. Follow up sessions last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, with most sessions lasting an hour.

When you schedule a session with me, we will be mindful of your schedule so we finish everything in the time you have available. If in a rare case, if it takes any longer than the time we have available, we can pause and pick up where we left off in the next session.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on you! Each session is so unique that it’s hard to say how many it will take to achieve the goals you have. Some clients need only 4 sessions with an occasional “tune up” and others start with 12 and keep going until they feel they’ve met all their goals.

If you’re just starting out, I recommend starting with a package that focuses on a specific goal, or at least 4 hours of sessions so you can experience momentum from each of the areas we work through together, but you will experience a shift after your first session!

What if I can't Balance something I really want?

Because each individual is so unique, it’s impossible to know in advance exactly what will happen during your sessions. If in the event you want to Balance for a specific goal and your superconscious won’t allow you to, there are a few explanations.

The first reason is your goal is something that can’t be changed by Balancing the beliefs. An extreme example of this is if someone wants to change their sexual orientation. We can increase self love and acceptance of yourself, but sexual orientation is not determined by beliefs.

The other reason is that you’re not quite ready to Balance for that goal, and different statements need to be Balanced prior to that goal. In some cases, Balancing different statements will also Balance for your initial goal. In this event, I encourage you to continue working towards your goals, acknowledging that the shifts you’re making during your sessions still serve your highest good.

It’s critical to release expectations about what will happen in order to create your highest potential for change. By releasing these expectations, you’ll create even more possibility for yourself. If you find this difficult, there’s a Balance for that. 🙂 

How is this different from therapy?

In therapy, we spend a lot of time working to learn where the patterns that keep us stuck are coming from, and all the other ways that can influence our lives.

It’s a wonderful tool to help you be aware of how the decisions you make influence your behavior and outcomes on a conscious level, but it doesn’t address the beliefs stored in the subconscious, which is where your decisions are being made from.

On a conscious level, we usually understand logically what’s holding us back. But it’s the subconscious that keeps us making the decisions that are keeping us stuck. Remember that out of our 50,000-70,000 thoughts per day, up to 80% of them are negative! When we do discover what the subconscious has stored as data, and shift that data so it supports you, that’s when you’ll start experiencing real differences in your life.

How does this compare to meditation or energy work?

In my experience, this is much faster. Meditation is a hugely beneficial practice but it can take years using meditation to shift your beliefs, where as my practice can take only a few minutes.

Energy work is also very powerful, and it is effective at clearing out negative energy that can hold you back, and can do it very quickly. But it doesn’t do anything to address the beliefs that might be creating that negative energy to begin with. Those beliefs must be reprogrammed at the subconsious level in order to support you.

What do you mean, "shift" beliefs (or data)?

For example, I recently worked with a client who was suffering from extreme anxiety. After talking for a few minutes, I asked her if she believed she was capable of healing. She said she wanted to, but she wasn’t sure if she was capable of it.

We muscle tested for the statements, “I want to heal” and “I trust my ability to heal.”

She tested strong for the first statement and weak for the second statement. A strong response indicates that the statement is true and a weak response indicates that it isn’t true, meaning, she didn’t believe that statement when she said it out loud. We Balanced for the statement, “I trust my ability to heal,” which then became true for her. We knew it worked because after the process she tested strong for that statement, and her anxiety began to diminish.

Because she didn’t trust her abilbity to heal, the other modalities she was using to manage her anxiety weren’t supporting her. Following her session, her anxiety became much easier to manage because she did actually trust her ability to heal.

Is there any risk?

The superconscious only wants what’s best for you.

Before we begin any Balance, we get permission from your superconscious to be sure it’s in your best interest. If it’s not, it might be like trying to eat dessert before dinner. It’s just not ready yet and something else needs to be done first. Or, you might be trying to change something that can’t be changed. But aside from extreme cases, this is rare.

Your superconscious will never put you at risk. If something feels scary for you, it’s because the superconscious knows the outcome will benefit you.

Do you work with children?

I do! Children are just as susceptible to limiting beliefs as adults are and are usually able to shift things much quicker than adults can.

Usually, when a parent contacts me to work with their child(ren), it’s a family affair. We identify what the beliefs are for the parent that might be creating the symptoms or negative behavior of the child, and Balance those beliefs for the parent. Frequently, the parent notices a difference in their child right away, even when we haven’t yet worked with the child. Additional sessions are then facilitated for the child, which further supports the family.

I’ve supported families with children with issues ranging from sleep challenges, disruptive behavior, sensory disorders, anxiety, and food sensitivity.
